Annie Weathers is The Blues City Schutzhund Club Vice President and Secretary.  She first joined the DVG in 1986.  Although she is not the primary Schutzhund participant in the family, she has always supported her husband's endeavors in the sport.  This includes months and months of training and traveling to various cities for trials, Regional and National competitions.  She is the oil that greases the wheel of the BCSC. 

As a result of her travel, she has met numerous people in the sport and enjoys the camaraderie she has experienced.  Before being introduced to the sport, she owned dogs that were the family pets but had never trained a dog in obedience, etc.  The year that she joined the DVG, she purchased her first German Shepherd, Falon Vom Spezialblut.  She recalls that Luke told her that it would take dedication, determination, and sometimes sacrifice to accomplish success in the sport. 

On such an occasion, it was late fall, an early Saturday morning.  It was still dark outside and it was raining.  It was not a heavy rain.  You know the kind.  Good sleeping kind of weather.  She stated, "I'm not built for the s?????.  That being said, she was a trooper and Luke had his way.  They went tracking.  Luke explained that she and Falon had to acclimate themselves to adverse weather conditions because Schutzhund is an outdoor sport. 

She titled Falon to a SchH I and retired from competion.  However, she stil enjoys training.  Falon passed in 1997.  In 2001, she acquired Aleix, a Belgian Malinois.
